Enter the Dungeon
Hello and welcome to the Dungeon. The Dungeon is the basement of my house, where I work as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, try and figure out how to make linocut prints, and do laundry.
My name is Jon, and I make things like posters, logos, editorial illustrations, and all sorts of other visual ephemera. The house that contains the Dungeon is located in Dearborn, Michigan, USA. I share the Dungeon with the occasional spider and house centipede, but mostly they leave me be. I share the space above the Dungeon with my wife, our two children (a 6-year old and a 7-month old as of this publication), and a cat.
I don't have a grand plan for this blog. I'm not looking to make money off of it or gain any sort of following. Most likely, the posts here will be a mixture of work/art updates, inane thoughts, the occasional art process walkthrough, and personal journaling. I've developed a strong aversion to social media over the last few years but I still wanted a digital space to make a fool of myself in front of strangers, so here we are.
Join my party and follow along on my dungeon crawling journey. Or don't, that's totally fine. I'm self-hosting this blog so if my power ever goes out, this thing will disappear, anyway. Nothing in this life lasts forever, you know? Though I trust that the bots are already caching these words, allowing future generations to look back and shake their heads in disappointment. But you get to do it now, in real time!
Thanks for being here.
